Eating Ideas:
1. If you want to make reservations at Nick and Nora's or the supper club on your ship (extra $35 is added to you S&S
card) make the reservations on Day 1 as soon as you can after boarding and ask for a window seat. An invitation will be delivered
to your room for the night of your reservation. Also, while there make sure and have a dance with that someone special before
leaving. I am not sure if this ship has this additional dining area or not. We have never went anywhere but the Lido deck or Dining room for meals because we
can’t see spending the additional money when the food served in this restaurant is usually offered in the Formal Dining
room. Nick and Nora's or other supper club (that you normally have to pay extra
for) sometimes is open and FREE at lunch time
2. You can get a tray for whatever meal from the buffet, pizza parlor, sandwich shop, or fish and chip stand and take
it back to your room.
3. If you are eating in the main dining room and don’t see any entrees that you want you may ask for chicken or
steak and they will get it for you.
4. If you are eating in the main dining room, you don’t have to order an appetizer or 1 entrée, you can mix, match
or order one of everything. The waiter won’t blink (example: if you see 2 entrees such as steak and lobster and you are trying to choose, don’t…just order
both. If you want seconds or you think you would want more of an entrée order
it. You already paid for it.
5. Don’t forget the gala buffet at midnight. It is fabulous to look
at and take pictures of.
6. Do NOT try the basil ice cream...this is a funny little joke some waiters and waitresses try on the people they are
taking care of just to be funny and it usually WORKS...lol
7. There's food everywhere so find it!! Buffets plus dining room plus grills and deli's and 24 hour pizza and ice cream
and room service and no hour of the day you can't find food.
8. Where the pizzas are, they can also do calzones or cesear salad if you want. Also, if you want a specialty pizza and
they have the items you want, they will make it for you.
9. If you want to scan the menu for the main dining room for that night anytime.... it’s posted daily on the door
so you can check it out. Don’t like what you see refer to number 4
10.
Don't forget
that room service is FREE...just tip them a little when you get it.
11.
Also, you
can order room service for the next morning (like if you want coffee and pastries or whatever) you can order it the night
before and set a time for them to bring it to you. John likes to wake up to hot coffee.
If you think you may want to sleep in and not be woke up at a certain time that is where your insulated cup comes in
handy go up to the Lido deck fill it and come back to the room to get ready for the day.
12.
Espresso
and cappuccino is often free after dinner in the main dining room ONLY. Regular coffee is free all the time. Espresso and
cappuccino is charged for in other places.
13.
Ask if you're
looking for things like milk shakes, etc. They will direct you to the area that sells them.
Some ships have a Ben and Jerry’s on them.
14.
If they have
something on the menu you really love, you can ask for them to bring it to you every night and they will (EXAMPLE: if you
have a certain appetizer on night 2 and decide you want it every night, tell your waiter or waitress, they can bring it to
you and you should not be charged for it extra)
15.
Don't forget
about tea times, they have some really good appetizers
16.
On the first
day, check to see where your table is so when it comes time, you can go straight to the table without wandering around or
to have it changed if it's unacceptable.
17.
Eat a good
breakfast and take a few snacks with you on the last morning because it sometimes takes awhile to get everyone off the ship
and you may get hungry. There is only one coffee area open at this point and takes cash only.
18.
Allow yourself
to enjoy the food. If you are one of these people that counts every calorie OR feels guilty about what they eat, a cruise
may not be the best choice of vacations for you. BECAUSE YOU WILL BE TEMPTED.
19.
If you are
having a special occasion on board like a birthday, etc. You can order a cake for that night or day. You will be charged for
it. Also, you can have decorations put in their room, etc all for a price. You can look that up at carnival.com. Cakes range
from about $10. Decorations depend on package.
Get with me and we can contact our travel specialist to set this up.
20.
If you need
to change dinner times, let the maitre d know when you get on board right away.
21.
This was
a list of beverages that were free during the day and in which areas. There's also a coffee hut but you have to pay for the
espresso, etc there.
v
Lido buffet
area-Iced tea, hot water (tea bags, hot chocolate), coffee (decaf and non), lemonade, fruit punch.
v
On lido buffet: Skim milk, milk, chocolate milk
v
Dining Room-Iced
tea, hot tea, coffee, milk, chocolate milk, juices, espresso and cappuccino
v
Room service-MOST
of the beverages that are available on Lido but not lemonade or fruit punch.
22.
If you want
to buy the soda cards for unlimited soda, you do this on the lido deck at the bar. It's like $38.00 per person. This is only
a good idea if you are a BIG soda drinker. I usually take a 12 pack of my own because they only sell coke products. I am not nice if I don’t have a Mt. Dew trust me.
23.
Don't skip
in line. I have seen people fall doing this and I will laugh if you are skipping
and wear your tray. If it is an honest accident I will help you. LOL
24.
Don't get upset
over long buffet lines for the welcome buffet. It won't stay that way. The welcome
buffet is where you go when you first board on the lido deck while everyone else is getting on the ship and the rooms are
getting done.
Don't forget that on most ships they have a grill that also does
hot dogs, hamburgers & fries most of the day!
